20 years of work.. Walkin' out to retirement barefoot! The only way it should be, if the weather gods cooperate! (That's OPI blue w/ white OPI Shattered on my toes!) |
Being a "barefoot-aholic" throughout my entire 40+ years of life, I had always dreamed of having a job where you could be barefoot at work all day, and never hear any shit about it! The easy spots for that are lifeguard (or pro swimmer), yoga coach (or gymnast), or martial arts instructor (or professional MMA fighter), but I always also thought that if I worked in a quiet, carpeted place..like, say, a library, behind a pharmacy counter (like in the photo below), my own office, etc..that I would just say, "Screw it!", and go barefoot at work anyway! As it worked out, life led me to my career with the NYPD, and that means boots. Big, stupid, black tactical boots. And black socks, because that's uniform standard. Ugh. A barefooter's worst nightmare! But it ain't like you can do patrol in flipflops or barefoot! That might just prove to be a teensy-weensy problematic (Ya' think?!).. However, during Saturday day shifts, when it was just me doing law enforcement-related paperwork in a locked, empty office all day, then all bets..and all shoes..were off, and it was "Bare Feet at Work" day! And now, I just retired yesterday, 20 years & done. So, how do you think it would end? Hah, read on, my friends.. |
Yep, it's hard to tell, but there ain't no shoes on that happy big lug's awesome bare feet! Peace out, everyone! |
Congratulations on your retirement, what a beautiful way to walk out! God bless you n your natural, beautiful barefoot retirement!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Cindy!! I am guessing you share Ruby's love, and my passion, for being barefoot as much as possible! Bare feet is such a fun topic for me, and most of the happiest moments of my life (like yesterday!) seem to always involve me not having shoes on my feet! LOL! ...I think you'll love this entire blog, I have a ton of different writings (about 40 pieces), all designed to get you laughing & lighten up your day! No shoes required! :)
DeleteI really like the barefoot skydiving pic. I always wanted to do that, but now I can't. I broke both my legs in 2008 and a knee prosthesis to boot. So I just settle for being barefoot as much as I can, which is 24/7/365, and living in Fl is great for it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this blog, it really is nice to read!

Thanks so much for the kind words! The whole purpose of this blog was to make people laugh, and have fun with the topic of bare feet, taking it away from the fetish angle. I don't judge anyone who's got a foot fetish..I mean, I absolutely LOVE bare feet..but some of those online fetish people are embarrassing & creepy, and ruin the fun for the rest of us. So, I just write about happy stuff that hopefully brightens up at least one person's day! Thanks again for reading and best of luck in life!
