Tickling Emilie's bare feet, and the start of a truly beautiful & laughter-filled friendship! |
As I continue to gather up fun & silly bare feet stories & photos for this blog, I occasionally am reminded of other stories that I forgot to tell since the inception of this blog.. Which is why it's ongoing: because it's never too late to share!
So, continuing the, now, "tickling bare feet at weddings" theme, going back about 16-17 years ago, I was at my friend Pat's kickass wedding. Pat was a friend from work, and so, many work friends were in attendance for the reception. We were all pretty bombed, I had my dress shoes off, and was sliding around the dancefloor in my black socks (this was looooooong before a friend's wife had dared me to get my toes painted black, which then set off this crazy journey of bare feet & pedicure fun that I'm currently on), being my usual crazy party self, laughing it up with all of my friends. Back at our table, my friend Bill's girlfriend (who I think was named Laura, or Lori, I truly can't recall exactly), who was also barefoot, noticed I had my shoes off, and asked, "Why do you have your shoes off? It's not like you had high heels or anything!" ...I then gave her the quick explanation of how I have always hated wearing shoes, and that, even though guys' dress shoes are nowhere near as bad as women's high heels, my stupid dress shoes were still killing my feet, and that I just always feel constricted with any shoes on..but ESPECIALLY with dress shoes on! Ugh! Laura then said, "Put your feet up my lap! I give really good footrubs!" I laughed at her unexpected statement, and looked at Bill, who said, "She totally does, dude! I'll be right back, I'm going to get shots for us while she hooks you up!"..Holy shit, I was about to get a foot massage at a wedding reception! From a stranger girl who I had just met, maybe an hour prior! LOL!! WHO else does that happen to?! ..I plopped my feet up onto Laura's lap, and she grabbed one foot to start the massage, then said, "Ewww, your socks are disgusting!" ..Dancing in the socks meant dancing in many spilled drinks, I guess! Without ANY hesitation, Laura pulled off my right sock, and then my left sock, exposing both of my very nice, and very well-cared for, size 13 bare feet, perfectly up on her lap! She began the massage, and then commented, "Oh my God, you're feet are soft like a baby's butt!"..(I have always used very good lotions on my feet because, A) it keeps them from smelling bad in the event I get a sudden, unexpected foot massage, like what was happening in this case, and B) it keeps the sole skin soft & supple! Hey, foot care is not rocket science!).. I gotta admit, Laura's massage skills were pretty awesome, and I tilted my head back & closed my eyes, enjoying that moment's tactile pleasure, even as the reception music was pumping loudly. However, then came the ticklish twist.. I heard Laura giggle as my eyes were closed, and she asked, "With feet as soft as this, I am gonna bet you are really ticklish!".. Hah, I didn't even have ANY chance to answer her, before she went from the pressing technique of massage to lightly running her fingernails up my bare soles! Of course, being as ticklish as I am, I instantly started cracking up! But she was going so lightly with the tickling, that I didn't have to pull my feet away! That's the beauty of ticklish bare feet: It feels SO incredibly good while, at the same time, being so unbearable! LOL! But, now, picture this funny scene that I'm describing: shoes off at a wedding reception, leads to a impromptu footrub, leads to socks yanked off & me getting my bare feet tickled! Laura kept lightly tickling my feet, giggling at my ticklish reactions, even saying, "I love this sh*t!", and alternated between foot massage and foot tickling for a good 5-10 minutes. Then, feeling absolutely amazing inside, I just stayed barefoot afterwards, back out on the dance floor, not bothering with putting those "disgusting" socks back on! ...Sometimes I really do sit back and laugh at all of the funny feet tickling incidents that have happened over the course of my entire life, just from having shoes off at the right moment! It's the unexpected, but always welcome, bonus of a "Barefooter's Life"! :)
